How SOLIDitech Uses AI To Improve Productivity

How SOLIDitech Uses AI To Improve Productivity

SOLIDitech’s mission has always been to help customers automate their businesses. We are a software company with a strong engineering core, and innovation is part of our DNA. So naturally, we’ve been monitoring the rise of AI tools closely.

AI isn’t new to SOLID. Over the years, we’ve used AI in projects ranging from facial recognition to churn prediction. But the recent explosion in Large Language Models (LLMs) and modern AI tools has opened the door to a whole new wave of practical applications.

We’re not just talking about AI – we’re actively using it to work smarter, move faster, and deliver improved productivity that benefits our customers.

That said, we’re not getting swept up in the hype. We’re taking a measured approach: researching, testing, and integrating AI tools where they make real-world sense – always weighing costs, data security and tangible business value.

Our Approach: Responsible, Real-World AI

AI tools can be powerful – but they’re also expensive, constantly evolving and often more impressive in demos than in real-world workflows.

That’s why we’re approaching AI adoption as an ongoing process: vetting tools, trialling them internally, and rolling them out only where they meet our standards for security, privacy, and real productivity.

No gimmicks. Just practical improvements, backed by our engineering mindset and governed by our internal AI Acceptable Use Policy.

The Tools We’re Using and How They’re Helping Us (and You)

So far, we’ve adopted a growing set of tools across various teams and workflows. We’ve included all the links as you might find them useful too.

Tools

Use Cases

Business & Research

Brainstorming, summarisation, quick research, idea generation

Development

Reducing repetitive coding, debugging, and accelerating dev work

Project Management & Documentation

Meeting transcriptions, task summaries, process documentation

The productivity gains we’re seeing today from these AI tools are more “quietly impactful” than revolutionary – but they’re adding up. So far, our teams are already seeing benefits like:

  • Improved Efficiency
Routine tasks like test case generation, documentation, and meeting notes are now quicker and more consistent. Gemini, in particular, is widely used across teams to streamline everything from support content to meeting summaries and research.
  • Smarter Knowledge Access
AI-powered search and summarisation tools make it easier to surface key information from long documents or datasets – helping teams make faster, better-informed decisions.
  • Better Use of Human Time (and yes, this is a big one for us)
AI takes care of the repetitive admin – freeing our experts to focus on the work that really matters.

It’s Not Just About Code

While software AI tools are often associated with code generation, software engineering is about so much more than just coding. We’re applying AI tools in various aspects of our services – from analysing requirements and designing solutions, to project management, QA testing, documentation, training, and support.

At SOLID, coding is just one part of the job.

Our software engineers also spend their time:

  • Meeting with clients to define complex business requirements
  • Clarifying third-party API integration
  • Workshopping ideas directly with product owners
  • Designing scalable, secure, maintainable solutions
  • Testing, demoing, and iterating collaboratively

We apply AI where it makes a real difference – helping our people move faster, think deeper, and deliver better results. Because we don’t just ship code – we build complete, thoughtful solutions that solve real problems.

But We’re Doing It With Caution (Think Data Security)

We know AI isn’t all sunshine and productivity unicorns. We’re taking data security, compliance and human oversight seriously. At SOLIDitech, all AI tools go through a vetting process and we’re actively working under the guidance of our AI Acceptable Use Policy to make sure we’re protecting both our business and our customers’.

We’re also keenly aware of the risks:

  • Data privacy concerns? We anonymise and minimise data used in AI tools.
  • Over-reliance on technology? We maintain human checkpoints across every output.
  • Shiny object syndrome? We avoid knee-jerk investments and focus on proven, sustainable value.

Looking Forward: AI Inside The SOLID Platform

We’re also actively exploring how AI might be integrated directly into the SOLID platform. Some of the early-stage projects include:

  • SOLID Support Ticketing Research (Beta)
A tool that can summarise customer account details, complex ticket histories, and even suggest first-draft responses.
  • AI-Enhanced Testing Research
Our Test Automation Team is reviewing top QA-focused AI tools to boost test coverage and improve consistency and software quality – without increasing manual work.

These initiatives are still in progress, but they’re already showing promise in helping us deliver faster and more reliably.

Our Long-Term Commitment

We’re investing in AI for the long haul – through R&D, team training, and structured experimentation. Our teams are already trialling AI-driven support tooling, exploring knowledge search tools for customers, and scoping out how we might integrate AI into our OSS/BSS platform.

And while we aren’t making wild promises about productivity gains overnight, we do believe that the work we’re doing now is laying the foundation for long-term impact.

Final Word

We’re engineering with intelligence. AI is helping us deliver more, with less friction. But the real secret sauce? Our people. Tools help, but it’s our expert teams and thoughtful processes that turn those tools into real-world value.
