SOLID Inspires the Next Generation of Tech Talent at UCT’s #BreakTheRules Event
We recently participated in the exciting #BreakTheRules Summer 2024 event at the University of Cape Town (UCT), connecting with talented students and offering them a glimpse into the dynamic world of software development.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academic studies and real-world software development, providing students with valuable insights into the industry.
Highlights of the event:
Engaging Presentations: SOLID representatives, James Lindsay and Annette Gardner, delivered captivating presentations showcasing our company’s culture, values, and career opportunities. Students gained valuable insights into SOLID’s commitment to employee growth and its inclusive work environment.

Real-World Insights: Our team members engaged in insightful discussions with students, sharing their experiences on diverse projects and providing practical advice for building a successful tech career.
Celebrating Diversity: An interactive quiz highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusivity in the tech industry, emphasising SOLID’s appreciation for unique perspectives and backgrounds.
SWAG: Students received SOLID-branded phone stands as a memento of the event.

Amazing staff: A special thanks to our SOLID staff members who volunteered their time to make this event a success: Carlo van Rensburg, Carlo Gomez, Cassandra Vellema, James Lindsay, and Jean-Maree van Riet.

Inspiring the Future of Tech:
