SOLID Teams Celebrate a Successful 2019 at our Year-End Parties

Our year-end parties are more than a ‘congratulations on a good year’, they are a celebration of our team and the success that we have achieved together through the year. This year we hosted 2 parties; a Great Gatsby-themed year-end party at The Taj Reserve in Cape Town for our South African teams, and a marvelous night out at the Nacionalna Klasa restaurant in Novi Sad for our Serbian Team.

With this theme, it was guaranteed to be a glamourous evening and, in true SOLIDitech style, our teams came dressed to the nines! Everyone looked fantastic in their 1920’s outfits. All the preparation, online shopping, crafting and Chinese shop finds totally paid off 😉

Arriving at the party was a real treat, with (literally) a red carpet welcome. The Taj Reserve was the perfect venue – entirely befitting the Great Gatsby theme, one almost forget what year it was.

There was lots of (delicious) food and (outrageous) dancing, there was even a surprise troupe of swing dancers who performed and taught some of the braver souls to do the Charleston.

This was our inaugural Serbian year-end party and our team had a wonderful evening with fantastic food, drinks and music. They enjoyed traditional Serbian dishes such as gibanica (cheese pie), veal under a honeycomb, barbecue, famous Krempita cake and a variety of salads. The whole evening was accompanied by a band that performed famous pop and rock hits.

All members of the team, together with their partners, enjoyed the music and dancing all night. The evening will be fondly remembered.

In the run-up to our year-end parties, we asked all SOLIDitech staff to recognise and celebrate their colleagues with the SOLIDitech Awards 2019. Across 7 categories, staff were asked to vote for who they thought was most deserving.

The votes were counted, awards were designed and the, on the night of the party, Manuel De Jesus (our CEO) and Charles Musto (our COO) did the honours and announced our winners, handing out all the prizes. Congratulations to all of our winners – we are very proud of you.

• The Entertainer Award: Renier van Schalkwyk
  This is awarded to the person who keeps morale high and makes people look forward to a day at the office.
• The MacGyver Award: Lee Goldschmidt
  This is for the person who is always fixing things – printers, light fixtures, coffee machines etc.
• The Spirit Award: Annette Gardner
  This is awarded to the staff member who embodies company culture and lives and breaths our SOLID values on a daily basis.
• The Behind the Scenes Wonder: Lee Goldschmidt
  This award recognises the person whose daily work makes everything go smoothly for everyone else.
• Rookie of the Year: Matheu Botha
  This is awarded to the most outstanding new addition to our team. A ‘Rookie’ is a first time SOLID employee who started on/after 1 January 2019.
• Outstanding Innovator: Rayne Martin
  Have someone on your team who comes up with great new ideas? Make it known with this award.
• Most Valued Person (MVP): Chris Hamman
  This is awarded to who you think is the most most valuable staff member of the year
